Copy notes from one video to another

In some jobs, we like to create one project where we post videos to submit to the client for reviews. And another project, where only our internal team can access. Quite often, we have the same video in both projects.
After the client reviews the videos with drawing notes and comments, it would be great if one could copy/export the drawing notes and comments from that video and paste/import into our internal teams' project's video, so our internal team can view the clients' notes as notes.
That's something that frame.io has that SyncSketch doesn't, which I think it could be very useful. At least for us that would make a HUGE difference.

Copy drawings and notes from a video to another video within the same project

It would be great to be able to copy certain or all drawings and notes from a video to another video within the same project.
In our projects, we often have little updates and it would be nice to just copy/paste the notes onto the updated video.

Copying Notes is in active development. You will have access to actions in the current item menu or using the right click context menu on the playlist.
It copies notes and sketches currently. If there are already sketches on a frame in the target item, we skip those. Comments get always pasted.
Questions for you all. Do you need a paste dialog in which you can define what you want to paste (Sketches or Comments or both) and maybe set an offset based on the current frame?
Not sure if that is necessary.
Thanks.

Oh and I forgot to mention - you can copy and paste across multiple tabs/projects. Open your client and internal review side by side and copy and paste in separate windows.

Philip Floetotto - this looks very promising! Having an option to paste sketches only vs both sketches and comments would be useful in my opinion. Usually going from a previous version to an updated one I tend to not need the comments as much as I need the sketches.
As for the paste offset...I can see situations where you might want that. In the case where the head of the shot has been opened up from Editorial for example. Because moving multiple sketches at one time is so difficult (side note, when can we get an option like the maya timeline highlight / shift region?) pasting same as or with an offset of perhaps where you put the time marker in the timeline as the paste frame?

Philip Floetotto - Looks great! I think that having one "copy annotations" option is great, but it will be helpful to have an option to "paste all" (as default) and "paste sketches only" / "paste notes only" available.
Also, a one time notification if the length of both files is different will be helpful, as this would help to understand if some annotations were pasted "out of time"

Thanks Thom and Ben for the feedback. We've added a paste dialog that allows you to select what you want to paste and also an option to adjust the start frame. Please have a look at the attached gif.
We currently prevent pasting on different items, e.g video notes can't be paste on an image. We'll also try to add a warning if videos have different length.
Hopefully we can get this into your hands soon. :) It's scheduled for the next release if QA gives the thumbs up.
Philip Floetotto
Ok, updated the dialog which now includes the warning if two items have different durations. :) Hope this helps.

Starting with a simple copy and paste in the download options within the player.

Did anyone try Paul Robbins suggestion? Did it solve your problems?

Any updates on this feature? Being able to update the source video while maintaining the drawovers and notes or copy all the current notes and drawings from one video over to an updated version is an essential part of our animation review process. As we ramp into full production the frequency of small updates to shots is increasing and losing the reference to previously given notes is very tiresome.

Copying notes, or duplicating a review item with notes would be a huge improvement to the workflow.

Agreed the option to copy just the notes/drawings from one video and add them to a new version of a different / updated video would be very helpful!

This might not be exactly what you want but here's how to copy a video and its notes from one review to another. Go to the list of reviews, toggle one down, select a video(s) with notes on them and choose "Add to" at the bottom? From here you can choose which review to send the video to.
As long as the review you send it to isn't shared externally and under the comment section you show All Notes (see pic) you'll see the notes from the original review.

Paul Robbins Thank you Paul.

We have a reference playlist with clips we want to share with different clients and potentially do small edits to without affecting the template. The clips have annotations on them.
I can 'move' the template to a client area. Or I can give a client access to our template area. But what I want is to copy the template playlist with all annotations to a client project.
This is just an example but a few times I've been surprised when annotations have fallen off when I've been re-shuffling clips around from playlist to playlist. Having a checkbox to include or copy the annotations would be very helpful and I think intuitive.
