Playback Scrubbing
Greg Lewis
When playing a longer video files, it is very difficult to scrub only a few seconds back. There are a few features that could make with much easier:
-Buttons on the player to jump 5 seconds back and forward with no manual scrubbing. The Netflix video player has these for reference.
-Both Nuke and Adobe Premiere have the ability to zoom in on the area where you scrub through a file. This allows you to scrub through a smaller amount of content in the larger space to give finer tuned control.

I understand exactly what you mean.
I should point out some useful modes:
If you hold the K key and drag right or left in the canvas area you will be able to scrub with good precision. This is what I use to go back "just a little".
There are two more modes that aren't quite what you're asking for but may be useful anyway:
If your primary focus is a specific range, use range-limited looping by setting the range with the icons that look like square brackets.
JKL playback is not quite like JKL shuttling in a video editor in that it currently cannot play backwards. But it can be used to speed up, then slow playback as you approach your target. Used in combination with range-limited looping it can provide a reasonable workflow in the absence of a proper varispeed shuttle.

Makes sense - Thanks for the great suggestions Greg!
