Top-to-bottom compare mode
Matthew Muntean
This would be very valuable, but i would much prefer manual only - just add a new button that is top-to-bottom.
This is because when reviewing many clips as a part of a review session you may want to compare two features of each clip as close to each other as possible, and a manual toggle for top-to-bottom. You will train you eyes to get through the stack of reviews.
If when reviewing something is automagically switching around
how
you review it may become difficult.RV is awesome in that it has a general 'tile' mode which allows for a number of different layout options. This is a hard hit tool for review and it works well.
Immediate concern is when reviewing internal data, 1920x2 is 3840x1080 which becomes a thin strip. Comparing what is happening on, say the far left of each clip, means you have to move your eyes farther over distracting detail.

Yes, we absolutely agree. To optimize the media real-estate when in compare mode, we want to always automatically choose the best option based on your browser and media aspect ratios. Would that sound reasonable?

Bernhard Haux: Yeah, I'd be more than happy to be able to manually toggle it, but auto-choosing the best option based on those criteria so you don't have to think about it would be great.
